Sleeping Braylon 2

Every time my friend, Steph, comes over we find Braylon asleep on the stairs!!
All I can figure is that he really likes her and just wants to be near her!!!
At least this time he looks a little more comfortable!

Baseball

Landon LOVES baseball.
I am sure that there are other kids out there who LOVE baseball,
but I have not seen anything like Landon.
He has been playing since he was big enough to hold a bat
and finally, after years of waiting, he was old enough for t-ball.
Steve worried that he'd be bored because he has been hitting off the pitch for years.
But he loved it regarless of hitting off a tee and he especially loved that his
Daddy was one of his coaches. We had so much fun watching him play this summer.
During the last game Landon ran after every ball no matter where it was hit. The best was when he dove onto two boys already going for the ball and they all laid there in a dog pile!
Warm ups before the game. He is so cute!!
Preparing for the hit.

Getting the grounder.
Well, it was a fun summer of t-ball. Landon is sad, but at least soccer starts soon!

Photo Shoot

For my birthday, I wanted a family photo shoot. Although Steve was hot (in more ways than one, mind you), we survived and Cam got some great pics! I'll love them forever!

Bangin' Bangs

On Monday August 10, Coralee and I went and visited my friend Kim at Super Cuts to cut bangs. I needed a change and Coralee has been wanting bangs for awhile now and she finally mustered the courage after watching me go through with it!! When I asked Steve if he liked my bangs he replied, "Your bangs are bangin'!!" Hence the title for this blog.

Thanks for thinking my bangs look bangin' babe! I like them too!!
(This is not the best pic. But my fam has been asking for a picture and this is all I got!! I'll put more on later.)

Another First

Aging is SURREAL . . . sometimes I feel like I am running in a race and life is just a blur as I sprint by.

It seems like only yesterday, I was lying in bed nervous and scared for my first day of school. I remember closing my eyes so tight praying that the tighter I squeezed my eyes, the faster I’d fall asleep. After what felt like hours, I would open my eyes and much to my despair I would not only still be awake, but only minutes had passed.

This memory came flooding back as I went to check on Coralee last night and I saw her in her bed with her eyes squeezed tight. I thought she was asleep, but when I touched her hair, her eyes flew open and she looked at me with big brown deer in the headlight eyes. I had scared her. She was nervous about her FIRST day of FIRST grade. I told her I knew how she felt and that if I could survive the first day of first grade, so could she.

Sure enough, she fell asleep and she is surviving her FIRST day of FIRST grade, however it is only 11:21 and she still has four hours left! On the other hand, I am not doing as well as I had expected. I have been so excited for Coralee to start school and go for a whole day, but after getting her to school late and missing her march into her school doors (Steve and the boys were there. I was parking the car), I must admit I feel rather melancholy. I feel like I have just finished one leg of a race and as I sit back and reflect, it doesn’t seem possible that my baby girl is old enough to be in all day school!!! Life is flying by too quickly. I need to slow down and enjoy it more.

Here is our little princess in her first day of school outfit.

Thirty, Flirty (But only with Steve), and Thriving

Today I turned the big 3-0!!! It is crazy because I thought that I would feel so grown up and mature, but really I just feel the same! BUMMER!! However, I guess that is good because we are only as old as we feel right?
(Don't know what's up with my camera and the color pink!! But I made Cam take a pic of me!)

I had a GREAT birthday weekend. Coralee, Cameron, and I went to the Castle Rock Outlets with my friends Erin and her girls and shopped all day on Friday while my WONDERFUL brother-in-law, Dave Wave, watched my boys. It was so much fun. While we were shopping, Steve called and told me that he needed my home by five and that I needed to pack some pjs and comfy clothes and left it at that.

When we got back, I packed and he whisked me out the door and we were off toward Golden. He took me to dinner at McCormicks, then we went and saw That Was Loud, This is Now at Heritage Square, and then we stayed the night at the Marriot in Golden. Then we woke up on Sat. and he took me and dropped me off at Salon Siverado for an hour massage, facial, pedicure, and manicure! It was wonderful!! I have the best husband ever!!! Sorry ladies. (Steve getting my turkey ready!! Yum, yum!! I love turkey!)

Saturday night we went and watched Bob and Renae in their stake's Jubilee play and then Sunday (my actual birthday) I had fun managing the children while Steve was at meetings and then after church we headed back to Arvada to listen to Bob speak at a stake fireside (which was incredible!!) and then we went back to their house for Thanksgiving dinner and cake and ice cream It was a great day!

Letter Boxing

Thank you Ashely Harkness for introducing us to the world of letterboxing! We absolutely love it! On July 30 we set out on our first adventure. We went to Berry Patch farm and Admas County Regional Park to collect our first sets of stamps in our handy dandy letterboxing notebooks!! We had so much fun!!

For those of you who have not heard of letterboxing, I'll try to explain. You choose a stamp that represents you or your family, you get a notebook, an inkpad and then you go to the following website, type in your zip and you'll find all sorts of clues to find a letterbox. Follow the clues and once you find the letterbox, you get to stamp the stamp into your notebook and then you leave your stamp in the book that you found and then put it back for the next letterbox junkies. It is so much fun. It is like a scavenger hunt. My kids loved it!! Go to www.atlasquest.com to read more about it and to find letterboxing adventures near you.

Sorry about the pics. Don't know what happened with my camera! Here are the kids and I at Adams County Regional Park after finding our second letterbox.
We got Cameron hooked while he was out visiting us. Here he is with the kiddos.

On our way to search for the letterbox.

Landon looking for the letterbox.

Landon finding the letterbox!

This was so much fun! I recommend it to everyone. It takes you to places that you have never been and places you would probably never go because you didn't know about them.
Happy Hunting!!!

Sprained Ankle

This picture is for my brothers who claim that I was faking a sprained ankle at home just to ruin our AWESOME game of water baseball so I could get attention and have everyone wait on me!! Such a male comment. Hopefully this proves that it was a decent sprain and I had everyone reason to have everyone waiting on me during my last night at home in Fallon.
Gav and Tim, this was even taken after the color started to fade! Take that! Miss you two! Thanks for the good time!

Sleeping Braylon

So Steve comes home (Tuesday July 27th) from his softball game and as he enters the house he says, "Have you seen where Braylon is sleeping?"

Steph, my bosom friend, was over watching a movie and I reply back, "No".

"Come see this," Replies Steve.

Steph and I walk over to the front door and look up the stairs and this is what we see!!! We could not stop laughing!!!

How uncomfortable does this look!

I had heard him moving around on the stairs, but he never came down so I figured he went back upstairs to sleep. He is obsessed with these "tenna shoes" and so he must've wanted me to put them on. They were sitting next to him on the stairs!

Talk about a kink in the neck!

Such a funny boy!

I just love Steve's question, "Have you seen where our son is sleeping?"
Like if I saw this I would have just left him there! Too funny!

Tornado Scare

On Monday July 20th My mom, my brother Cameron, Steve, and I went to the movies to see Harry Potter. At then end of the movie the theater got really loud and we realized that it was hailing outside and the wind was howling! The next thing we knew, the movie stopped and an employee rushed into the theater and announce that there was a tornado warning and that we all needed to evacuate the theater and head into the bathrooms. From the sound of it I thought we were surley having a tornado. I made Steve call our sitter and get the kids into the basement! A bit of an overreaction, but from the sounds of things I was sure that the end was here!! It wasn't even raining out at our house when poor McKenna got all of our kids out of bed and made them hike down to the basement! (Sorry McKenna!) Needless to say, we didn't wait out the tornando warning before heading home.

When we got home, the weather wasn't too bad but then it hit at our house! It dumped and dumped! This picture didn't turn out because it was so dark, but it rained so much that the our street flooded. The water got so high it was above the wheel wells of our neighbors cars!! That is what I was trying to capture a picture of. It was crazy!! Every time my family comes from Nevada we get the craziest weather!
