My Quilt!!

I really wanted to learn to sew and my friend, Amy Farnsworth, was willing to teach me. I decided I wanted to make a quilt for the baby and I knew having a deadline would actually help me to get it done.

When we were in Utah this summer my sister-in-law, Stephanie, took me all around Provo trying to find a fabric store so that I could pick out cute fabric. We finally found one and I got fabric for the baby and for Coralee. After a few lessons from Amy and help cutting out all of my blocks, I was able to sew this Turning-Twenty quilt for Carson.

I sewed the top and then my other talented, wonderful friend Darcy Brown finished the back, bound, and quilted it for me as a baby gift! I am so proud of it and I think it turned out so cute. It is the inspiration for his room and I have loved putting it all together!

Baby Shower

I am so blessed to have such WONDERFUL friends. My amazing friend Jessica threw me a baby shower with the help of my other fabulous friend, Christy, telling me that although I may not think I need one, I deserve one! She did such a great job.

I had such a great turn out and got so many wonderful gifts that I really did need from all of my friends. Coralee was there to help me and I think that she was more excited about the shower than I was! (If that is possible!) She cannot wait for the baby to come and she had such a great time! There was tons of yummy food, fun games, great company, a cute diaper cake, and a diaper raffle to help stock me up. It was such a fun afternoon and it really got me excited about our new little arrival.

My CUTE Family

Steve rarely asks for his picture to be taken, but on one of the rare Sundays that we have him home, he asked for some pictures with his kids. Here is our little photo shoot on Stake Conference Sunday.

Pregnant

I hardly take pictures of myself when I am pregnant, but needed to to make baby shower announcements for a shower that my friend Jessica threw for me. Here's some pics about a month before my due date.

Lots of Things New

We've had a lot of NEW in our lives lately. In August, Steve started a NEW job with a company called Geist Intelligent Facilities in Fort Collins. He is their Director of Sales and he loves every minute of it. It is such a wonderful company and he is learning, growing, and contributing so much there. It has been a blessing in our lives and we are so grateful for this wonderful opportunity in his career.

After the NEW job came a NEW car. When Steve's front bumper was about to fall off of his old car and I was praying everyday that he would make it to Fort Collins and back alive everyday, we decided it was time for a NEWER, more sturdy car! He went with another Altima and he loves it. It's a 2010 fully loaded with all sorts of fun stuff such as a DVD player, built in GPS, blue tooth, XM radio (his favorite), seat warmers, leather, and all the other "loaded stuff". I thought my van ran pretty good, and it did compared to the old car, but now that I've driven a NEW car, I am learning it doesn't run as smooth as I once thought!

We're loving the NEW, safe car!

Soccer

Landon played soccer this fall and boy did he love it!! He was so fun to watch. He was finally the oldest in his league and you could tell. He was on a fun team with a great coach. It was such a great season. He dominated and had so much fun.

Steve and I love to brag about it because we know nothing about soccer and cannot take any credit for any of his skill in the sport. We owe that to Will Farrell and his movie Kicking and Screaming! Landon loves that movie and he talks about it all of the time. After a game he would say, "Did you see when I did that one move like in Kicking and Screaming"! It was a hoot. He practiced all the time with Braylon outside and really taught himself well. It is so much fun to watch your kids develop their talents and find what they love to do!

Dragon VS. Knight

The boys came upstairs in these costumes the other day and I thought it was one of the cutest things that I have ever seen! They then proceeded to battle. I laughed and laughed as I watched them and the battle lasted for quite awhile before the dragon began to cry. It was pretty funny. I'm not sure who won, the fight was actually pretty even!

First Day of School

Well our school year has started and boy am I happy about it. We needed some structure and routine in our lives and school definitely brings that.

Braylon is going to preschool at our Rec Center two days a week and he loves it. He started on August 3 and is doing a great job. He is becoming quite the big boy.

Coralee and Landon started on Thursday August 12 and they are attending a new charter school called Foundations that is just up the street from our house. It is fabulous and I couldn't be happier with the school, principal, or teachers. Is a great place for us. Plus, they have to wear uniforms and I think that they are so adorable!! Doesn't Landon look like a little missionary?! These pictures melt my heart.
We sure are two proud parents. Our kids are amazing and we are tremendously blessed!

Happy Birthday to Me!!

I had such a great birthday this year! Cameron was in town and watched the kids while Steve and I went for an overnighter! We stayed at the Hyatt downtown, ate at the Keg, slept in, worked out, ate tacos, car shopped, and window shopped. It was fabulous!

On my birthday, the kids got up and made me breakfast. They made me a piece of bread spread with raspberry jam and topped with whipped cream and some juice. They also made me cards and gave me some of their stuff! It was too cute and very thoughtful.

It is becoming my tradition to have a family picture taken on each of my birthdays. We do not take enough family pictures in my humble opinion. My family is just too cute!

The Kindness King

Funny story about my Landon. So we were driving home one Sunday and Landon was bugging Braylon in the car.

As we pulled into the garage and got out, Landon continued to bug Braylon.

I didn't see exactly what happened but Cameron was standing by the boys watching what was going down and he says to Landon, "Hey Lanny, what does your hat say?"

Landon looks at him and say, "Huh?" and he tries to look up at his hat to see what it says.

Cameron tells him, "It says Kindness King. Are you being the Kindness King"?

Landon's face turned a little red and he replied, "No".

He walked into the house and didn't bug Braylon again. I laughed and laughed because I didn't even notice what his hat said. Way to be on top of things Cameron!
